he pariahs of the Alliance
and Horde, Farmers can be found from the northern forests of the Eastern Plaguelands in Tyr's Hand, fighting back the constantly spawning Scarlet Crusade, to the southern reaches of the Blasted Lands, ceaselessly waging a war against the neverending armies of the Shadowsworn clan. Wielding mediocre items at best, these brave warriors fight day and night to bring equality and equilibrium among prices in the Auction House, never quitting their noble task, despite the vitriol spewed upon them from the very people they serve.
The Farmer is a mix of a decent fighter with an above average businessman. The Farmer is ideal for situations involving repetitive attacks against monsters slightly weaker than themselves, and in situations where rare items are desparately needed. Unlike other classes, the Farmer can also wield great control over the Auction House, providing deals to other players at tidy profits. Also, Farmers can fit in perfectly to any group thanks to ninja specialization, giving them flexibility even greater than that of the Druid.
Strengths:
Can use any armor and any weapon
Very few skills - greatly reduces the complexity of playing!
Gains significant stat bonuses each level
Can fit into any pickup group lacking a certain class thanks to the Ninja disguise abilities
Easily the most profitable class, in both the game and real-life - practically pays the monthly fee itself!
Weaknesses:
Not liked by other players
No armor or weapon sets that are farmer-only
Very few abilities make the farmer almost too easy to play
Information
Class Role Farmers are the brave grinders in mediocre equipment, meant to pick on those creatures weaker than themselves. They're specialized for both soloing mobs as well as with group interactions. However, this is not the sole purpose of the farmer - they need to auction everything they get, which is quite a challenge when half the server hates you. However, it's up to you to decide how to play the game - one of the great things about World of Warcraft is the creativity and cunning used by our players every day to overcome such obstacles!
Challenges
Finding places that aren't already heavily farmed
Knowing the right price to charge for items to maximize profits
Allowable Equipment: Mail, Leather, Cloth, Shields, and Plate Allowable Weapons: One- and Two-handed Maces, One- and Two-handed Swords, One- and Two-handed Axes, Polearms, Staves, Wands, Daggers
Other Information
Always Rolling - A good farmer always rolls on every item, regardless of whether he/she needs it. If questioned, say, "for friend," or "for guildie" to reduce suspicion.
Getting away (extreme)
If your life is low, start running. Don't stop. Keep on running until the monsters stop following you. Dying causes penalty loss to your armor and weapons, as well as lower your overall farming effectiveness.
Equipment Any equipment that is bind on equip is auctionable, so focus on just about everything. Green, blue, and purple items are especially valuable and can really pay off at the end of a long, hundred and fifty hour work-week.
Tips
If you find a good farming spot, don't tell others about it; it will just encourage competition.
If you see people advertising in the 'Looking For Group'
channel and they need a specific class, use your ninja disguise
abilities to make yourself look and act like that class. You can
then message them and instantly get into the party.
Sometimes you will want to save ninjaing to the very last boss in a long raid. Ninjaing too early can cause you to be booted from the party before the really good items drop.
To be able to re-join parties that you've already Ninjaed
from, use the Ninja name changing ability. They won't even know
it's you!
If another Farmer enters your area, use the 'Curse of the Farmer' ability on them to drive them away.
If a monster is attacking a weak player nearby, let it finish them off.
Research 'Eye of the Gouger' in the talent tree so you know exactly how much to charge people in trade channels.
Profession Options
You can pick whatever you want. You might find these more tailored to the Farmer:
Herbalism - Can gather herbs while grinding away. This is a popular choice with Farmers. Mining - Mining mineral nodes yields valuable ore, as well as precious gems. A guarantee sell in trade channels and the Auction House! Fishing - While boring on its own, can be combined with a fishing bot for overnight gold.
