Did you ever wonder why you spend all day slaving over a hot Molten Core while your spoilt newbies get to wile away the days killing snakes and rabbits in protected zones? You can't let them grow up thinking that the rest of their lives will be filled with silverleaf and sickly gazelle. It's time to show these jaded youth the harsh realities of adulthood and teach them to respect the extreme difficulty of your day to day grind.
This is why we are introducing Take a Newbie to Work Day! On this day, we encourage you to find a young player who has never experienced the high end game, and bring them with you the next time you have to make a trip to Lights hope, Winterspring, or any other horrible location where you're lucky to get five feet from the flight link without being attacked.
Most of your day will consist of actually taking your newbie to work. They won't be able to fly there like you do, so this will be a good chance for you two to spend some quality time together. Time spent choosing your newb will be worth it when you see their eyes light up the first time they get a glimpse of a ?? demon. I find that offering just the right sized incentive helps me separate the true newbies from the newbposters, but there are other effective methods. And remember, try not to overwhelm them with the complexities of the long journey ahead.
It is important not to be overly condescending during the trip. The most important lessons your newb will learn will be unspoken ones. Lead by example.
I tried to take a few pictures of our special day together, but my camera never seemed to be quick enough. Here he is after meeting a few of those jokers in the Dalaran mail room.
And this... this isn't a great shot either. This was after I introduced him to the management team in Hillsbrad.
Unfortunately, I spent too much time introducing my first new friend to nice folks in the Eastern Lands (at least 30 introductions by my count), and didn't have enough time to show him all the things I'd hoped, but we had a good time, and tomorrow was another day!

I had many more things I wanted to show my next newbie. I found him in Mulgore He was so excited about the prospect of going sightseeing with me, he was bursting at the seams.
To be fair, this wasn't a complete newbie, in fact he'd already been to some very dangerous places on his level 20 main.
No matter, there are a few places even more dangerous than that. First off I had a twenty page report to hand in at the department of Thousand Needles.
My newbie was quickly learning that it's a dog eat dog world out there. Thank god we aren't dogs.
Next it was on to a sales meeting in Feralas. The little tyke must have been a bit bored with the whole thing though, because when I turned around, he was gone! If you've ever lost your child in a Wall Mart, you'll know the feeling I had right there. I searched everywhere, and just when I was about to call the police, I found him. Whew!
And just then, my newbie gave me a big surprise. It was his birthday. Yay!
I did make a quick stop to introduce him to some of the big lugs that hang around the water cooler...
It was almost 5:00, we had just enough time for me to show him the best part of my whole job, Silithus. We'd have to sneak in though, there was no time to get there through conventional channels.
Amazing. I only wish I had more time to really show him around once we got there, but you know what they say, the journey is half the battle!
It was time for me to leave. I left my newbie in the care of some nice looking locals. I'm sure he'll be fine, I mean, he made it this far.
